Future fertility and the opportunity to have a family are among the most important concerns of people with cancer. There is a wide variation in the awareness of health care professionals of the need for timely fertility discussion with people diagnosed with cancer.
Currently, fertility preservation care is often underimplemented. The barriers to overcome include limited models of care and uneven access due to cost, low health literacy, and patient education.
